How did you first get into surfing? What about the sport hooked you and made you want to pursue it?

I got into surfing thanks to my Dad, he used to take me surfing every weekend when I was a grom and buy me surfboards!! That is the raddest thing on this planet, Love you so much Ballie!! He is so supportive of everything I do and want to achieve, the only thing that he would like in return is for me to give him a set wave now and again.

If you had to describe your personal surfing style in just a few words, what would it be? What aspects of your approach set you apart?

Does just being able to stand up on a surfboard count as a style… I like to think I can adapt to most and any type of boards, I was mainly a shortboarder growing up but got the longboard bug at 16. I like to change my approach to surfing based on what board I am riding. If it’s a longboard I like to be upright and smooth, but when I shortboard I like to be more explosive and critical.

What does it mean to you to represent JBay Fin Design?

I am so happy to be a part of this family, to be able to work with like-minded people who love surfing as much as I do is the best. They never overlook any small detail and make the best fins I have tried.

What does the JBay Fin Design’s motto "Not just a fin, it's a feeling" mean to you?

That motto is exactly what everyone needs to hear!! Fins make or break boards and surfs, make sure you have the right fin kids.

Which fins do you ride and how do the fins you ride shape your overall experience in the water? Also, include which dimension surfboards you pair the fins with.

I have been riding both the 9.75” Supers V1 and V2 fins in my 9’4 logs and it’s a match made in heaven. The feeling of hold and release when you need it makes every surf enjoyable. Those Bruce’s Beauties… my word, I’ve never had a better set of twin fins before. Not much more to say but “Go and get yourself a set! “

How do you like spending time when you're not in the water?

I love a good game of PADEL and hanging out with my friends.

If you could have any celebrity caddy for you during a big contest, who would you choose and why?

I would have Sam Christianson as a board caddy, he is an insane surfer and so knowledgeable when it comes to surfing an event heat.

What's the most "bro brah" lingo term you've picked up from fellow surfers that you can't get out of your vocabulary?

My best “bro brah” lingo is COOMMMEEE AAWWWNN!!!!!

Let's settle an age-old surf debate: Is shortboarding or longboarding the cooler discipline? Make your case for why your craft reigns supreme.

Both are insane, I don’t have a preference, surf a board for what the waves call for. Don’t be stubborn.

Which breaks are still on your surfing bucket list to check off? And what's one wave or destination that didn't quite live up to the hype for you?

Skeleton Bay, Arugam Bay, St-Leu, and last but not least Malibu. I did a trip to Barra a few years ago and got skunked, but I’m heading back there for the next swell.
